Changing Products with Price Code of P to C

This topic is intended for Independent pharmacies only and is not applicable to Rexall pharmacies.

A Price Code change will convert pack sizes of 1 and centrally maintained pack sizes greater than 1 from P to C. A Price Code of P will no longer be an option for centrally maintained or free-form pack sizes. A number of changes in the Drug Folder will accompany the change to ensure inventory and prescription pricing remain accurate.

Addition/Removal of TP Rules

TP Rules will be added or removed for the affected centrally maintained pack sizes to ensure the correct quantities are submitted to Third Parties with the new Price Code. A report of the TP Rules that were removed can be found in C:\ProPharmtemp\InventoryCleanUp_DeletedTPRules.csv.

PTS will make every effort to insert the TP Rules where known. There may be TP Rules, especially for private plans, that you may need to manually insert.

Adjustments to Inventory Values

Inventory values will be adjusted for the affected pack sizes to ensure the values are aligned with the new Price Code of C. These changes will apply regardless if the pack size is monitored or flagged as Do Not Re-Order.

Select the dropdowns to learn more about the changes to each value.

Addition of Minimum Dispensing Quantities

The Min Disp Quantity values will be added where applicable to guide users to enter the correct quantities based on the pack size and Price Code.

Adjustments to Supplier and Eligibility Prices

The Supplier and Eligibility Prices for the pack sizes, where applicable, will be adjusted accordingly to unit costs.

Logging Changes Due to the Price Code Change

In Drug History, the following types of changes related to the Price Code change will be recorded.

  • Price Code Conversion

  • On Hand Adjustments

  • Re-Order Point Adjustments

Notice how the User documented for each of these changes is ADM and the Comments for the record indicate "Price code conversion to units."
